Evidence-Based Precision: ACVS 2026 Study Highlights DelphiVet’s Superiority in THR Cup Placement
The Data is In: Real-Time Computed Navigation Outperforms Traditional Fluoroscopy.
At Imaginalis, we design technology to push the boundaries of veterinary orthopedics, but our true benchmark is always clinical evidence. We are thrilled to share the outstanding results of a recent comparative study presented at the ACVS (American College of Veterinary Surgeons) Congress 2026, which highlights the transformative clinical impact of DelphiVet.
The poster, titled “Navigation vs Fluoroscopy: Acetabular Cup Placement in Canine Cadaveric THR,” was authored by esteemed veterinary surgeons Dr. Austin Byrd, Dr. Alexis Bilmont, and Dr. Laurent Guiot. The study rigorously compared traditional fluoroscopy-assisted acetabular cup placement against our real-time, CT-guided surgical navigation system.
The Clinical Challenge
In Total Hip Replacement, achieving the perfect Angle of Lateral Opening and precise cup version is notoriously challenging using traditional 2D imaging. Misalignments, even by a few degrees, can compromise joint biomechanics and patient outcomes.
The Findings
The data presented at ACVS 2026 clearly validates the advantages of transitioning from fluoroscopy to 3D computed navigation. The study concluded that utilizing DelphiVet resulted in:
- Significantly improved accuracy and precision of the Angle of Lateral Opening.
- Significantly improved precision in the measurement and execution of cup version.
Redefining the Standard of Care
These findings reinforce what our surgical partners experience daily in the OR: DelphiVet eliminates the guesswork inherent in free-hand and 2D-assisted techniques. By providing real-time, millimeter-accurate 3D feedback, DelphiVet empowers surgeons to hit their preoperative targets with unprecedented reliability.
We extend our congratulations to Dr. Byrd, Dr. Bilmont, and Dr. Guiot for their exceptional contribution to evidence-based veterinary orthopedics.
